Dry or Dehydrated Skin Types

Characteristics:

Every skin type and all ages can suffer with moisture loss, this is one of the most common skin types.

Often you can see signs of dehydration most commonly on the cheeks, forehead and around the eyes. You will see horizontal dehydration lines, open pores, dullness and often make-up doesn’t last and seems to disappear.

For dry skin you will see additionally the skin can feel tight and uncomfortable, with some rough patches.

Top tip:

Keep the skin well protected when outside to the harsh environmental aggressions.

Oily & Combination Skin Types

Characteristics:

Skin is shiny often most visible in the afternoon, feels greasy to the touch with spots and blackheads. Enlarged blocked pores lead to further breakouts. This can be all over the face or more targeted to the T-zone areas even coming down onto the chest and upper back.

Top tip:

Still continue to moisturise, keep your pores unclogged by not using heavy products and try not to over exfoliate particularly with a scrub (avoid scrubs completely if possible). This will help to balance oil/ water levels.

Sensitive Skin Types

Characteristics:

The skin is prone to redness, inflammation, feels hot/ warm to touch. Skin gets irritated easily and can react to many products and cosmetics. Skin can be touch, product and/or hereditary sensitive.

Top tip:

Sensitive, fragile and reactive skin requires the most delicate yet effective care to restore calm and comfort. Strengthen the skin with a good moisturiser to help protect from internal and external reactions.

Sensitive Skin Types

Dull & Tired Skin

Characteristics

The first signs of skin aging appear around 25 years old. Any dehydration lines will appear now as fine lines and wrinkles. The skin can lack luminosity so may appear dull and grey looking.

Top tip:

Use products containing Anti-Oxidants as they will protect the skin and delay the signs of premature ageing.

Characteristics

Advanced Signs of Ageing

Characteristics

Noticeably a loss of facial volume which deepens the appearance of lines and wrinkles. The skin feels dryer and more dehydrated as the skin becomes thinner. It may be more prone to sensitivity due to hormone imbalance and pigmentation marks can appear.

Top tip:

Advanced Ageing Skin

Pigmentation & Uneven Skin Tone

Characteristics

The skin is prone to dark spots appearing which can be varying size and shapes. This can be caused by too much sun exposure, hormone imbalance like menopause and pregnancy or oxidative stress.

Top tip:

Use a daily SPF ideally a factor 50 to protect the skin and prevent further pigmentation occurring.

TRY:
