A Day in the Life of a Hydration Hero | DECLÉOR UK
Our busy lifestyles can take a toll on our skin, body and mind, and it is often our hydration levels that take the biggest hit. It takes a little more than a quick cleanse and moisturise to truly hydrate your skin, but we forget to build in the time to ensure we are fully hydrated. Worry not, Decléor are here to help and hydrate. Take a peek at a day in the life of a Decléor Hydration Hero to see how you can make small yet mighty tweaks to your lifestyle.
7am: Time to get up. I drink a large glass of water as soon as I wake up. I often pop a bottle of water in the fridge overnight with a few slices of fruit in (Lime and mint is my favourite!). The flavours infuse overnight, making the water a lot more appetising and refreshing.
7am: After a shower, it’s time to prep my skin for the day ahead. After cleansing, I use Decléor’s Neroli Amara Aromessence before moisturising. The serum is 100% natural and contains essential oils from the Neroli Amara flower, fruit, leaves and twigs for triple efficiency. My skin is hit with hydration. I then use Hydra Floral Rich cream on top for the ultimate power duo.
7am: Now my skincare routine is complete, I mix a few drops of my Neroli Amara Aromessence into my foundation to give my skin an extra glow.
8am: I’m running late, so breakfast will just have to be grab and go. Luckily, I’ve already prepared a big bowl of fruit salad for the week that I can pop in Tupperware. Upping your fruit intake is an easy way to increase your hydration levels as they are a great source of electrolytes and fluids.
9am: I arrive at work. Dehydration affects 95% of the population. For that reason, today I’m doing hydration tests around the office to increase awareness of the impacts of dehydration.
10am: I’m already feeling a little thirsty, so I keep a large bottle of water on me at all times.
1pm: My favourite part of the day –lunch time. If you don’t have time to prepare lunch, make sure you are still making smart choices. Reach for salads that contain nutrient and water rich foods like spinach, romaine lettuce, and cucumber. This doesn’t mean your food has to be boring – use the greens as a base to the foods that you enjoy. My lunch for today is a bed of spinach and cucumber, topped with roasted butternut squash, chick peas, and chorizo.
4pm: I’m beginning to feel tired, but the day is far from over. In times like this, I reach for my trusty bottle of Neroli Amara Aromessence once again. I apply 3 drop to my fingertips, inhale deeply to sooth my sense, and then gently tap across my face. Another hit of hydration, a treat for my sense, and my makeup even looks refreshed.
7:30pm: A quick H.I.T. session at the gym has got my heart racing. I reach for a banana before my workout to give me energy, and sip on water throughout.
8pm: Dinner time. I stick to a basic principle that half of my plate should be full of vegetables. Most vegetables have a high level of water content and therefore sticking to this principle will increase your water intake for any meal you desire.
10pm: Time to unwind. I cleanse my face, and follow with the Decléor Neroli Amara Night Balm. It has a calming scent which is perfect for relaxing the senses before you sleep. This 100% natural nourishing balm dissolves into the skin to comfort even the driest of skins.
