Tejal Patel

Position: Group Accounts Payable Assistant – Finance Department

Tejal initially joined DECLÉOR on 2 weeks work experience before starting in 2002 working part-time whilst at university studying for an Accountancy and Finance degree. Initially Tejal helped out in Marketing and Retail and this allowed her to experience working for a well established company. After graduating in 2005 she joined the Finance department where she was part of the Operations team. She was then promoted to Group Accounts Payable Assistant.

This role is more in line with what Tejal studied at university, where she deals with the group’s expenses and payments and makes sure all the supplier accounts are reconciled, she also deals with cash and bank reconciliations as well as assisting and supporting the senior Finance team.

Tejal is based at the company’s warehouse in North London where the Finance team also operates from and she says that the environment is thoroughly enjoyable with a relaxed atmosphere but the employees are still driven and ensure that the work is carried out efficiently and effectively.

Tejal has only ever worked for DECLÉOR and she said that the company has always been supportive of her, particularly when she has wanted to study further. She is currently studying for her ACCA and has always been encouraged by her line manager which she finds rewarding. She has also found that she can relate what she learnt in theory at university and put it into practise at work and therefore it makes more sense.

Tejal is very passionate about the DECLÉOR, CARITA and SHISEIDO brands. She is very fond of the skincare and makeup ranges and not only uses them herself but now has got all her family and friends using them as well.

Tejal believes that it is a great company to work for and says she thoroughly enjoys her role and works to achieve the company’s goals. She says her progression through the company has been smooth and work has been both rewarding and appreciated.
